The process of crafting with pear tree branches and the intricate interplay of spatial scales between body movement and pear trees are at the heart of ‘PearSpective,’ a handicraft gallery pavilion designed for Aiyuan Town in Siyang, China. This installation draws inspiration from the scenes of Aiyuan residents planting trees and crafting with branches, inviting visitors to perceive and explore the intimate, collaborative narratives that emerge between the pear orchard and the human body.
‘PearSpective’ functions as a dynamic space, a treehouse, encouraging exploration and fostering connections among people of all ages. It provides a setting where visitors can gather to sit, talk, craft, play, or climb, creating a multifaceted experience that bridges generations. The use of local materials, such as pear tree branches woven into shaders, ties the architectural structure to its surroundings, reinforcing its connection to the local environment and traditions.
